Hosted Dynamics NAV

Microsoft's Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 ability for hosted Dynamics is unsurpassed with other technologies. One of the best things about R2 is the delivery methods available: it can be delivered via an icon on the desktop or via a web-browser. The web-browser method means that an end-user can login to a secure website using Internet Explorer from any physical location on any computer. The desktop icon displays a “normal” icon on the user’s Windows desktop that is indistinguishable from any local application, and launches the NAV Role Tailored Client (RTC) seamlessly.

The second main advantage for NAV R2 is the deployment time. In partnership with Microsoft, Reviora has developed a seamless process to deploy a new NAV customer in less than 24 hours. From the time that a request is made from a partner to setup a new customer, end-users can have logins issued to them by the same time the next day. While there may be plenty of work to do to customize, tailor, train and import data into the system, the power of that first deployment is unsurpassed.

A third advantage with R2 is the seamless integration with the local workstation, from printers to local applications such as Microsoft Office 2010. For instance, if a user wants to export a chart of accounts, they can select “Send to Excel” from the Actions menu, and the export is performed and launched in Excel on the local computer, not from the cloud. This scenario harnesses the power of the cloud and delivers it in a great user experience.
